To support its growth and bring its audiences closer to its ticketing services, the MCFA has completely redesigned its website.
WebstanZ rose to the challenge by leading the project alongside its partner Tentwelve, a specialist in cultural platforms.

Your mission,
if you choose to accept it…

  • Liege Airport : "We don’t want just another institutional showcase. We want a site that makes people want to book and lets them do it in three clicks"
  • Us : "In other words: a calendar placed at the heart of the site, event pages designed to drive action, and a homepage that puts the program (and the brewery in the spotlight."
  • Them : “Exactly. And while we’re at it: a 20% increase in conversions to the ticket office, a 25% increase in newsletter sign-ups, a mobile Lighthouse score of at least 80… and all of that by early June.”
  • Us : "Challenge accepted. We weren’t starting from scratch: our cultural Drupal framework already had the essentials in place. All that was left was to focus our energy where it really counts: the design, user flows, and layout."

In short: an event calendar transformed into a content engine, seamless user journeys from discovery to booking, a live-connected Utick ticketing system, and a tool that the communications team manages on its own, day in and day out

A website designed as a journey

The project was conducted in close collaboration with the MCFA team. WebstanZ took the lead on functional design and development; Tentwelve contributed its practical experience in the cultural sector, which was particularly valuable in making informed decisions regarding the calendar and public navigation paths.

The entire site is designed to follow a single, streamlined path. The calendar is no longer just a single page: thanks to a module integrated into the page builder, events are automatically displayed wherever they are relevant—thematic pages, the “teens” section, and pages organized by venue. Entered once, displayed everywhere, and always up to date.

On the publishing side, the communications team has access to a page builder that provides a “near-live” preview: you put blocks together, see the result immediately, and publish. There’s no need to rely on the agency for routine updates.

Key Features

A dynamic, filtered calendar

Combinable filters (event type, audience, age, location, date, keywords), featured events, suggestions for similar events, and automatic archiving of past events without manual intervention.

Integrated Utick ticketing

Events are automatically imported from Utick via its API, then editorially enhanced on the site (images, videos, cast, partners). The statuses “sold out,” “last tickets available,” or “canceled” are displayed in real time.

An Action-Oriented Homepage

A carousel of upcoming events, featured sections (highlights, school events, pub nights), and access to the ticketing system visible at every step.

Search, newsletter & SEO

A search engine that tolerates typos, a Mailchimp form, and contextualized call-to-action blocks, along with 301 redirects and technical best practices to preserve search engine rankings.

Mobile-first & accessibility

Design optimized for smartphones first, in accordance with WCAG best practices—with in-house expertise certified by AnySurfer.

Drupal,
the obvious choice

For a cultural website that combines a structured calendar, external integrations (Utick, Mailchimp, Google Analytics), editorial autonomy, and high performance standards, Drupal was the natural choice. Robust, secure, and scalable, it offers the flexibility a communications team needs on a daily basis—without ever having to rebuild the site to accommodate growth.

A pragmatic approach did the rest: quickly delivering a complete and high-performing V1, then evolving it (interactive map, content migration) in line with observed usage patterns.

The new website is now live and serves as the heart of the MCFA’s digital presence.
