To support its growth and strengthen its digital presence, the airport has completely redesigned its website.
WebstanZ accepted the challenge, working alongside the airport’s communications team and our partner Unanim Studio.

Your mission,
if you accept it…

  • Liege Airport : "Our website needs to be relevant to everyone: freight forwarders looking for a logistics partner, journalists seeking factual information, businesses setting up in the area, as well as the general public and local residents. All of this, without compromising on anything."
  • Us : In short, an architectural design that makes the layout clear, a visual identity that reflects the hub’s international role, a flexible back-office system for your teams — and all of this meeting the high standards required of a key airport infrastructure.
  • Them : “Exactly. Oh, and we’ll also need to be able to switch to crisis communication mode within minutes.”

In a nutshell: rethinking the architecture, structuring information for a wide range of audiences, delivering a standalone editorial tool, and integrating a ready-to-use, state-of-the-art communication system.

A site fit for a European hub

The revamp was led in close collaboration with the communications team at Liege Airport and Unanim Studio, which provided the project’s artistic direction.

Together, the teams redesigned the website’s architecture to clarify the navigation flow and better highlight the airport’s various aspects: its role as an international cargo hub, its regional economic importance, and its position at the heart of European logistics networks.

The new website offers a smoother browsing experience, a stronger visual identity and a clearer content structure. Each audience group (logistics partners, businesses, journalists, travellers or local residents) now has its own dedicated section, ensuring that content does not compete with one another.

Key Features

Interactive map

Designed as a practical operational tool, the map enables Liege Airport’s teams to update information relating to the various zones and facilities independently, as new allocations are made or the site undergoes changes. It is also designed to interface with the airport’s information systems (CRM/ERP), in order to centralise and streamline data updates.

An emergency plan

Given the critical nature of airport infrastructure, the website includes a system of information pages that can be activated in the event of an emergency. In case of an incident or disruption, the communications team can quickly switch to a dedicated mode and provide structured, reliable and prioritised information.

A standalone publishing platform

The communications team has a flexible back-office system, designed with the day-to-day reality in mind: managing various types of content, tailoring pages to different audiences, and updating the website without having to rely on the agency for every change. The editorial governance framework was developed in close collaboration with the Liege Airport team to align with their actual working processes.

Drupal,
the ideal partner

For a corporate website that combines security requirements, editorial flexibility, business system integrations (CRM/ERP) and the management of exceptional situations, Drupal has emerged as the most suitable technical platform.

The CMS offers the robustness expected of an airport infrastructure, whilst giving teams the flexibility they need to keep their communications up to date on a daily basis.

The new website is now live and forms a central pillar of Liege Airport’s digital communications
