First thing to do? Conduct a major technical audit, i.e. understand the logic behind the construction of the former sites. Second step: meet the teams. The pleasant surprise: motivated, responsive people in UCM's IT, communications and marketing teams. Over time, a relationship of trust was built up, crucial to the success of the project. After the audit, we started work on the makeover.
A website is a bit like your house. There's an architecture, and each room has its own purpose and function. Sometimes, the design needs to be reviewed, as do the functionalities of each room. This was the case here. So we started with a major overhaul of the Drupal-related infrastructures (development, test and production environments) to standardize them and bring serenity. This was an essential step for both UCM's internal teams and WebstanZ's programmers.
It's not the first time we've said it: the more challenging - or complex - the more we like it. But that implies robustness on our part, a reply to every request, every stage of the project, every technical variation.
We are lucky to have a range of profiles capable of finding solutions to every situation: 1 account manager, 1 senior project manager, 2 back-end developers and 2 front-end developers. All are available to work on the project. They are transparent, communicating and documenting the code at every stage of the project.
Started in April, the mission is now in full swing. After fixing the technical debt and setting up a harmonious ecosystem, we'll be embarking on a discovery phase to help UCM communicate better, harmonize its media and social network ecosystem and implement a CSR project. The ultimate goal: to create a truly interactive platform that simplifies the lives of UCM's freelancers and workers. We have the ideal tool, Drupal, coupled with qualified and motivated teams: the perfect cocktail for excellent work!
